Rule Clarifications
1.-REGARDING RULES IN GENERAL
COACHES CAN NOT AGREE TO CIRCUMVENT-IGNORE OR CHANGE A RULE!
2.-REGARDING FORFEITS
A.-A GAME IS FORFEITED 30 MINUTES AFTER THE SCHEDULED-HOWEVER IF A CALL IS RECEIVED THAT THEY ARE ON THERE WAY WE WAIT 15 MINUTES MORE. IF THEY ARE NOT IN SIGHT THE GAME IS FORFEITED.
B.-A TEAM MUST HAVE 7 PLAYERS IN ORDER TO PLAY. IF BOTH TEAMS DO NOT HAVE 7 IT IS A DOUBLE FORFEIT-THEY CAN NOT AGREE TO PLAY AN OFFICIAL GAME. IF A TEAM GETS ITS 7TH PLAYER AFTER 30 MINUTES AND AFTER THEY AGREE TO PLAY A PRACTICE GAME IT IS A DOUBLE FORFEIT.
3.-REGARDING WILD THROWS
A.-IN GAMES WHERE COACHES PITCH-THE RUNNER GETS 1 BASE NO MATTER WHERE THE WILD THROW GOES BUT HE MUST MAKE THE BASE UNLESS THE BALL GOES INTO DEAD TERRITORY.
B.-IN GAMES WHERE PLAYERS PITCH-THE PLAYER IS ONLY AWARDED A BASE IF THE BALL LEAVES FAIR TERRITORY. EX. A WILD THROW IS MADE TO 2ND BASE AND THE BALL GOES INTO CENTER FIELD-THE BALL IS IN PLAY THE ENTIRE TIME AND THE RUNNERS CAN ADVANCE AS FAR AS THEY CAN.
4.-REGARDING WHEN A PLAY IS DEAD
A.-GAMES WHERE COACHES PITCH-WHEN THE COACH GETS THE BALL THE PLAY IS OVER-IF THE PLAYER IS HALF WAY HE GETS THE NEXT BASE.
B.-IN GAMES WHERE PLAYERS PITCH-THROWING THE BALL TO THE PITCHER DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY END THE PLAY. THERE IS NO HALF WAY! HERE'S THE STORY-IF A PLAYER ROUNDS A BASE THE DEFENSE MUST MAKE A PLAY ON HIM AT THE NEXT BASE. IF HE'S ALREADY RUNNING TO 2ND GIVING THE BALL TO THE PITCHER DOES NOT SEND HIM BACK TO 1ST.
WHEN HE REACHES 2ND THE PLAY IS OVER AS LONG AS THE PITCHER STILL HAS THE BALL.
5.-REGARDING SWINGING BUNTS
A.-GAMES WHERE COACHES PITCH-WE PLAY THE BALL MUST PASS THE PITCHING MOUND OR IT'S A STRIKE.
B.-IN GAMES WHERE PLAYERS PITCH-AS LONG AS THE BALL IS FAIR IT IS IN PLAY. THE ONLY DECISION THE UMPIRE MUST MAKE IS WHETHER THE BATTER TOOK A FULL SWING AND DID NOT PURPOSELY TAKE A HALF SWING OR BUNT. SOME KIDS ALWAYS TAKE MEEK/WEAK SWINGS-IF THAT IS THEIR NATURE IT'S IN PLAY. IF THE UMP DETERMINES HE DID IT ON PURPOSE HE IS OUT!
